I am looking at purchasing a tractor for 8 acres, with horses. Land is slightly rolling but has been regularly mowed for pasture. I need to put in 1200' of fence and will use the tractor for mowing. A dealer has quoted $8500 for a L2550 with a belly mower and 1100 hours. Is this a big enough tractor and is the price in the ball park? Thanks

My dad has the same model and currently farms about 15 of his 30 acres in the Smoky Mountains of NC. He has used his tractor for gardening, mowing, and hauling trailers of firewood from the top of his mountain. If your land in gently rolling, then this should tell you something. I love the machine, and we can't keep my 13 year old daughter off of it either! ....
